Cloud Computing for Energy Requirements and Solar Potential Assessment Energy Requirement

It is important to understand the needs of the people to design the useful system for them. First of all it is important to estimate the available resources. Then the numbers of inputs required by the system designed have been calculated. These inputs are the essential parameters for system design.

Cost, size efficiency of a system needs to be identified to fulfill the demands with the help of resources. For solar energy, it is very important to estimate the resources available. The resource estimation depends on two kinds of parameters. The first one is working parameter i.e. thermo-nuclear fusion on Sun and the second one is system parameters that are related to the system i.e. colour, width, thickness, length, number of buttons, and dimensions.

Solar Potential Calculation
Information of the quantity of inward solar irradiation at different co-ordinates is of vital importance in different fields such as solar potential calculation, uncertainty in prediction, rural area, electricity generation, house hold utilization, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring. In India, the following relationship is required to determine the tilt angle for the receiving panel. For summer, the tilt angle being, s= ɸ -(10° to 15°) and for the rest of the month, s= ɸ -(10° to 15°). Mostly in India, it is ɸ +/-10°. Solar radiation lasts for about 8.2 hours in a day in India by National Renewable Energy Laboratory. This reference is used to convert unit from W/m2 to kWh/m2.

How to use Software

Steps to Use the software

- Double click on the ESolPot.jar file to open the file

- There are two modules in the software developed the first one is to calculate the Energy Requirements of a house in a village and the second one is “Solar Potential available at the specified location” to calculate the solar potential.

- For calculating the Energy Requirements, following inputs are required: For Tube-light energy consumption: Quantity, power wattage and the number of hours of usage of the tube-light in a day. For Fan energy consumption: Quantity, power wattage and the number of hours of usage of the fan in a day. For ½ Horsepower Well Pump: Quantity, power wattage and he number of hours of usage of the well pump in a day. Click on the button “Calculate Total Load” to get the total load of a house in a village.

- Software tool is available online to downloaded from the link provided above.

- Click on the "Limitation" button to get the possible limitations of the software.

- Click on the "Help" button to get to know about how to use this software efficiently and correctly.

- Click on the "Credit" button to get the details about the developer and supervisor of the project.

- Click on the "Exit Software" to close the software after getting the desired details of the input values.
